Starlink’s latency in Australia varies by location, but is generally between 20–40 milliseconds (ms). Starlink’s latency is also dependent on the time of day, and can be monitored using the Starlink app.
Starlink Install Gippsland on their Real Time Speed Testing Page has a LIVE latency/ping to Google and CloudFlare.
There is also the Starlink Status tool which shows ping for different locations around the world. Click here for an Australia location.
The latency may be higher during poor weather or a bad storm. However, it is usually pretty consistent, even on a Cloudy Day.

What is Latency?
Latency refers to the time it takes for data to travel from your device to a destination server and back again. It is measured in milliseconds (ms) and is a key factor in determining the responsiveness of a network connection. Lower latency means quicker response times, which is particularly important for applications like online gaming, video conferencing, and real-time communications.
