Depending on your NBN Technology available, Starlink can offer you a faster internet service. If you are on a NBN FTTC, FTTB or FTTP, it may not be faster. It also may not offer a lower ping/latency compared to a Fix Lined Connection.
Starlink is aimed for those who have a unreliable FTTN, Fixed Wireless or Satelitte NBN Service. Starlink offers a more reliable internet service because its Satellites are within lower earth orbit (LEO) and there are more satellites compared to the NBN Satellites.
For example, the NBN Satellites are higher in orbit and stationiary which means a longer distance for data transmissions to travel resulting in a longer response time (also known as latency). Also, there are fewer NBN Satellites which results in slower internet as every other user has to use the same bandwidth provided.
